My co-founder, Vivek Farias, and I started this journey in 2023 with a clear mission: to move the industry beyond legacy, keyword-based search toward intent-driven discovery. This milestone reflects being in the right place at the right time with the right team and the right product as generative AI fundamentally reshapes the commerce landscape.
Why We Founded Cimulate
For over twenty years, the retail industry has relied on a site-search paradigm born in the early days of the web. While others worked to incrementally improve keywords, we knew that a deeper shift was coming. We built Cimulate to help retailers serve humans and AI agents alike in an agentic commerce world.
To do this, we developed a specialized, intent-aware context engine and CommerceGPT – a purpose-built model grounded in domain-specific behavioral data. By simulating millions of shopper journeys, we’ve helped our customers understand not just what people buy, but why they buy it. The results have been tangible, delivering up to a 14% increase in revenue per user for our partners.
